Basement Update

Hello my dear friends,

oh my ... I am exhausted, mainly mentally and I am sure I know why ... going to bed at midnight and up again just after 6 am and then lots to do during the day and of course a good dose of stress and worry will do it I think. On the good side our basement is coming along great. I am hoping that we might be finished in a few weeks or so. Here are some photos to keep you up to date ...

It is starting to look great and and the end is in sight (I hope) and to tell you the truth ...
... I CAN'T WAIT UNTIL IT IS FINISHED!!

My house is in need of a intense clean up of all the dust and there is something about having lots of people you don't know in your house. There seems never to be a moment you can relax until they have left again and for some reason I feel very stressed with this renovation but maybe that is normal in a situation like this. Unfortunately we did have a few things, nothing terrible so far, we could have done without but it is better to get most of them sorted while we are renovating. All in all things are good and I hope they stay that way.

I hope you are well and life is treating you kind my dear friends,

Have a peaceful and creative day,

Karen B.

  1. Great progress is being made. These kinds of jobs are always stressful, especially if you are living in the midst of the project. Pretty soon the fun part will start as you paint, set things up and decorate.

  2. Oh, don't you love a clean slate? That basement has so many possibilities and is looking fabulous! I totally know the stress of a huge project like this but this too shall pass, as they say.

  3. I'm sure there is plenty of stress and with all those people in and out you just can't relax, plus the dirt oh my!! We've built 2 houses from the ground up...over saw the finishing of 2 others and that was crazy, but we weren't living in any of them while the work was being done!!!
The only time we did was a kitchen remodel and that was only about a week total of no kitchen to new kitchen. It's still exciting knowing there will be something wonderful at the end of it all.
