I just thought I would let you all know what I have been up to lately because even though I haven't been posting on my blog ~ I have been creating a lot and I have also been busy otherwise.
As I have told you in my last few posts that I am busy making Christmas creations and I couldn't share them with you for a reason. Well... the reason is that I am going to submit some of my newest creations and one or two of my older ones too to be considered for publishing. My dear friends Dawn (The Feathered Nest) and Lisa (Tarnished And Tattered) both told me some time ago to go for it.
The last few weeks I have been cranking those creative gears of mine and now I am ready to head to the post office to take the next step in this new adventure and then it is a 'waiting game' to see what will happen next. As I am sure I am not the only one but I am my biggest critic when it comes to my creations. A lot of times I don't think that my makings are good enough to be published in a magazine and that's why I don't even consider trying, but here is to being positive!! I can only try I figure.
I have been creating a little otherwise as well. I made a new pincushion that I would like to share with you today. I made it from a small tarnished 'something' I found at a church sale a few weekends ago and this is it ...
The detail on the handle of my little tarnished 'something' is so elegant ...
... just like the vintage brooch ~ they make a perfect match!
I kept this little creation simple but elegant by using the plain osnaburg fabric and small segments of vintage doilies.
And last but not least ...
... this is one of our lovely cats.
Alexia loves to be close to me a lot and of course she loves to rest ... unfortunately it is where she gets into my way at times ... just like in this photo ~ my photography backdrop.
Thank you for visiting me here at Todolwen. It is always nice that you drop by and take a look at what I am up to these days and I hope to see you here soon again.
I hope you are well and life is treating you kind.
Have a peaceful and creative day,
Karen B.
Your pincushions are always delightful and this one is no exception. I love all your work and I look forward to seeing some of it published...and it will be!! It's beautiful!
ReplyDeleteOh dear Karen
ReplyDeleteYou will SO BE PUBLISHED!!!
I adore this beautiful pincushion - it's so elegant!
It's a piece of art to grace any room - I would have it on my coffee table in a vignette with other similar Objets d'Art.
I expect to see it in Somerset Life very soon!!
hugs

Be assured you are totally worthy of publication. I wouldn't be surprised to see a whole book, considering your talent & imagination. I also feel a little better after reading your sign offs. The sincerity is so obvious & it lifts me up as does all your amazing creations. Don't doubt yourself.
ReplyDeleteOh, I have two of those "Tarnished Something"s! I got it in Russia, it is to hold a heat proof glass for tea! I think I might make one of your pin cushions out of one of them!
