today I would like to share my latest creation with you which is something I haven't made in sometime now and I am talking about none other than of course a pincushion!!
I haven't made any in the past few months now I think and when I opened my 'metal' drawer which is just filled with all sorts of things like egg cups, shakers, sugar bowls and many, many other metal/tin treasures and I saw these two matchbox candle holders - what else to create but a pincushion came to my mind.
My old tattered matchbox candle holders before I transformed the right one.
At first I thought of covering the little matchbox with some very nice scrap booking paper but then I had an even better idea ... I copied the paper onto a piece of muslin using my printer. Not only did I cover the matchbox with the fabric but I had enough to make the actual pincushion out of it as well.
My printed fabric ...
... on the left you see the printed muslin and on the right is the original paper.
And here is my finished matchbox candle holder pincushion ...
... I used some of my little crochet flowers embellished with old pearls for this pincushion ...
... along with a small scrap of a vintage doily and a vintage brooch.
I hope you have enjoyed my latest creation, it was fun to make!
Last but not least ...
please include dear Sonya from 'Counting my Blessings' and her husband in your prayers ~ they have had some bad news and could do with loving thoughts right now.
And finally ...
I am still working on my creation that involves a sewing table drawer, a map of the Heavens and a water balloon and I am hoping to be able to share it with you soon but I am not sure when that will be since I have to start my gardening chores tomorrow. So ... keep stopping by and visit me here at Todolwen ~ you never know what you might discover that has been created here!
I hope you are well and life is treating you kind.
Have a peaceful and creative day,
Karen B.
Dear Karen
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous creation you have made from the little candlestick holder. I love it. I also love tarnished metalware too. The fabric from the scrap booking paper is a great idea!
Come and see what is sitting in my sugar bowls at present!
Now I must go and visit dear Sonya's blog.
Easter Greetings to you!
Suzy

Just lovely! A quick question, how do you print material with your printer? I would so love to be able to do this for my artwork. Have a blessed Easter.x
