the work on our basement has began a few days ago and will continue for most probably 3 to 4 weeks if nothing goes wrong. Already a lot has been done in the first days. Almost everything has been torn out that needed to go and the new stud walls and doors have been set in.
Here are a few before photos for you to see what it looked like ...
We are converting this large room into two rooms ~ an office and a TV room.
This is still the powder room from when the house was built.
Do you see the hole in the ceiling above the sink? That's were the water shut-off taps were to turn the water off to our upstairs!!!
And this is what it looked like yesterday ...
Lots of dust, debree and much more work to be done.
I am hoping to get some time to create today ( ...please) and it doesn't matter if it is only half an hour after I do all my out of the house chores today... buying two more new doors and a few other bits and pieces. The electricians are here today and maybe the plumber might be coming too. Looking at this mess can you believe that I am still really excited about this finally getting done!
Otherwise everything else here at Todolwen is the same ~ I need to start the clean-up in the backyard in the next few days and the pool people will hopefully come soon too and so much more.
I will try and post about this 'project' in a few days again or when ever I have the time and more pictures.
So ... when ever you have a spare moment, stop by here at Todolwen ... I would love for you to visit me again.
I hope you are well and life is treating you kind my dear friends,
Have a peaceful and creative day,
Karen B.
Hi Karen
ReplyDeleteGlad you were saved from the incredible hurricane with little damage all in all! Looks like a lot more damage in the basement at present. It will be so well worth that extra space - I know all about this sort of thing living with a Builder!
Loved so much your vintage linen and lace finds a little while back - I'm a collector like yourself.
Hope all goes well with the renovation!
Keep well and enjoy your weekend!
x Suzy
I know it's a lot of work, and mess and disruption.. but you'll love the added space.
ReplyDeleteIt's a real adventure isn't it? Fingers crossed all goes well and on schedule...well... all goes well.
Have fun with this remodel...the process is always such a disruption but the end result will be so wonderful! I look forward to seeing photos of the remodeling.
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteI have a quick question about your blog, do you think you could e-mail me?
