Little Glistening 'First Snow' Nests ..

Hello my dear friends,

I was planning on working on my felted poinsettias yesterday but in the end I had to step away from them for a little bit because it wasn't working the way I wanted it to and it began to frustrate me. I then opted to work on some embellishments for last years little sparkly nests and I must say that I am so happy with the idea I had for them and the way it has come to life.

Before my little nests looked lovely but now that they are all dressed up they look enchanting in my eyes.

I thought I had actually made more of them but unfortunately I only made three small nests and one  tiny little one. My daughter Caylagh fell in love with the tiny one and that says it all. The three other nests will be listed in my Etsy shop soon.

And now I would love to share my little 'First Snow' nests with you and again many, many photos that speak for themselves.

~ Nest 1 ~

~ Nest 2 ~

~ Nest 3 ~

The top nest is 4 inches in diameter and the other two are only 3 inches in diameter but I don't think that their small size takes away from their beauty one little bit.

And last but not least my tiny nest ...

... it is only 2 inches in diameter!

Like I said, the nests will be listed in my Etsy shop some time soon but I will let you know before hand here on Todolwen when that will be.

I am still working on my other creations for Christmas/Winter as I am writing this post and I am having a lot of fun doing so. I just seem to 'bloom' when the most wonderful time of the year approaches.

Oh ... and by the way ... we had our first snowflakes last night!

It would be nice if you were to visit me some time again here at Todolwen.

I hope you are well and life is treating you kind.

Have a peaceful and creative day,

On My Worktable Right Now .. Christmas Projects

Hello my dear friends,

at any one time I either have nothing at all or on the other hand at least 3 or 4 projects on my worktable waiting for me to donate my time to them. Right now I am working on 3 different things or I am trying to do so.

Right now I am playing with my felted blankets ...

... trying to create beautiful poinsettias from them.

I am also still knitting more scarves as Christmas gifts and ...

... so far I have made three ~ two of them are still awaiting their butterflies.

And as well at that I have now started work on some embellishments for my last years nests ...

... before I list them all for sale in my Etsy shop.

As you can see I am busy working away on my Christmas creations and already waiting for the first snow to fall some time soon. Oh and by the way ~ did you know? It's only ...

... 61 days until Christmas!

That means I better 'get my skates on' because I have many more things to do!

I would love for you to stop by soon again and visit me here at Todolwen.

I hope you are well and life is treating you kind.

Have a peaceful and creative day,

Karen B.

A Bright And Beautiful Fall Morning ..

Hello my dear friends,

I am sure that the people passing me on the street really had to think twice why I am almost laying on the payment with my camera on a cold fall morning last week. My reason ... I just had to capture what I saw.

It was just before 7 am in the morning when I stood at my window and looked outside. The morning sun was bright and the air crisp ~ just amazing! But there was some else that also caught my eye ... it was the dew drops on the grass. The entire lawn was glistening in the sun and looked so beautiful.

This is what I saw ...

Even when my camera didn't focus the way I wanted it too ... it was still a lovely sight.

And I just could not miss the chance of taking a photo of my lovely flowers all bright and beautiful in the morning sun.

Wishing you all a bright and beautiful Fall morning this morning.

I hope you are well and life is treating you kind.

Have a peaceful and creative day,

A New Listing In My Etsy Shop ..

Hello my dear friends,

today's post is just a short one since I am very busy.

I just wanted to let you that there is a new listing in my Etsy shop.

I am not sure if any of you recall my Fall nest I made last year? ... It is actually the only one I ever made. It's a little sad but I am not a Fall person when it comes to creating nor a Halloween person ~ it's just not me and that's why there aren't any Fall or Halloween creations on Todolwen. I do love everything about this time of year thought ... the colors, falling leaves flying in the wind, lovely walks in the park just not creating but I am hoping that this might change one day ... you never know.

So if you like Fall and nests ... why not pop over and take a look my little nest?!

I hope you are well my dear friends and life is treating you kind.

Have a peaceful and creative day,

An Old Wool Blanket ..

Hello my dear friends,

it must be a several months now since I found an old pure wool blanket at a charity store. It was a great shape and I loved the color and I had been looking for something like this for some time now so I bought it with all the best intentions of making something lovely out of it.

I hate to say but after buying it, it stayed forgotten in the trunk of my car for what seems forever and I didn't really take any notice of it. Then when I had to take some garden waste to the dump I finally took it out and it ended up in my laundry room cupboard where it sat for weeks again ... just waiting for anything to happen with it. Finally I decided to 'felt' it in the wash machine and it turned out really nice ( unfortunately I didn't take any photos before the felting). It has a really neat look now! But instead of working on it further I again put it into my studio cupboard and there it sat again waiting for me to do something with it.

It is such a lovely piece in a very lovely color and now all I need to do is think of what I can create out of it. I already have a few ideas flouting around my head ... like a Christmas stocking, maybe a pincushion, a large "Heart~Felt" and then there is that beautiful Pottery Barn poinsettia pillow ...

(photo courtesy of the Pottery Barn)

... that I found on the internet when I typed in 'felted poinsettia'. I have seen so many remakes of this pillow and I thought I would love to try and make my own version of it hopefully using some of this old felted blanket.

What ever it is that I decide to turn this lovely piece into I will of course share with you lovely bloggers. Would you believe me when I say I can start to work with this old wool blanket?!

As always I have more than one creation on the worktable at any one time and with Christmas on it's way, my table is full of all sorts of things.

So ... do visit me here at Todolwen soon again and see what I have been up to.

Until then ...

I hope you are well and life is treating you kind.

Have a peaceful and creative day,

Karen B.
