I would like to show you a few more of my makings. This time I would like to show you some of my baby shoes and of course, a new pincushion I made last week (you should know by now that they are my favorite!)

I also have a little riddle for you today. I have a little treasure of mine I would like to share with you (See the picture below). I am not going to tell you what it is until the end of this post. So ... what do you think this is?

I can tell you a few little things about it. It is made from thicker tin, it is about 2 inches tall, it is over 100 years old, and there is something inside it. Now you can start guessing!


Baby shoes!!!! EVERYBODY (or at least almost everybody) has to love baby shoes. They are just so precious and small and cute and adorable and wonderful ... (you see where I am going with this) - you just have to do something with them.

This is one pair of baby shoes that I found in a second hand store (aka my second home) and I decided to transform them into ballet slippers. (It is very hard to come by real little ballet shoes, so why not just create your own?)

Here is another pair of baby shoes which I decided to embelish with lace around the edge. I added some ribbon to the back so they could be hung up, and to finish them off I added some lace rosettes (which I made) and a little charm to add some sparkle.

Here is my last pair of shoes I would like to share with you today. These cute little Mary Jane's are just so sweet! They are a very pail yellow, and reminded me of  one of the first little spring flowers you would see in the spring sunshine ...

... and if you look real close, you can see one of my little critters inside sleeping! (I love my little mice so much!) I also like the writing I added to the inside sole of the shoe, almost like they have a story to tell of the journies they have made.

And now for my newest pincushion making ...

I found this little cup and saucer in a second hand store and  I could hear it whispering, "Take me home"! I think it was the color that intrigued me the most, not to mention the fact that this is such a small, dainty tea cup. The color made me think of a robin's egg - so fresh and delightful! It didn't take me long to come up with the idea of turning this into another pincushion. This is one of my favorite pincushions to date. I just love the little antique spoon I added on the side, and I chose these white pins because they made me think of sugar crystals.

And last but not least, the answer to my riddle at the beginning of this post...

It is a Victorian pocket candle holder!!! (I wonder how many of you thought it had something to do with pins?) I bought this beautiful little treasure in England and it even has it's original candle inside. Antique tin items like spice tins, hat tins, cash boxes and this candle holder, are a few of the things I like to gather for myself.
