My Velvet Valentine's Posies ..

Hello my dear friends,

I must admit that things haven't gone too well this year with me being able to create things and actually finish them on time ... I seem to leave things too late even though I try not to. This time it was the same but I finished my Valentine creations for my daughters just in time.

 

Remember my red dress/ballgown I told you about some posts ago? I used some of the velvet to make my newest creations that were my gifts for my two daughters.

It started out with plain red velvet hearts and then turned into these ...

... lovely creations ...

... my Velvet Valentine's Posies.

An old cut up doillie ...

  

... and an aged tag ...

 

  

... a few vintage velvet violets ...

 

... and some crinkled seam binding ...

 

... were all that was needed to turn these hearts in to my velvet Valentine's posies.

I wasn't sure if these creations were going to work out at first because I am not a good sewer when it comes to using a sewing machine but I took my time, even though I didn't have much, and in the end my creation turned out exactly the way I imagined it should look.

The nicest thing about these creations ...
... the smiles on my daughters faces when they received them.

Forget Me Not 'Heart~Felt'

Hello my dear friends,

my last weekend had been filled all sorts of ups and downs. I did manage to take some time to create and therefore I would like to share my newest 'Heart~Felt' with you today. I am taking a real liking to making these lately and this is one of three new 'Heart~Felts' that I have been working on.

Did I ever tell you that I love how versatile my little crocheted flowers can be? Depending on their color they can become one of many different little flowers. I had show you in a previous post my pale blue yarn that turned these little lovelies into ...

 

 

... Forget~me~nots.

And this is how I used them on my newest creation ...

...my Forget~Me~Not Heart~Felt.

 

 

 

 

 

It is so nice that sometimes it doesn't take much sparkle to make something very lovely which I think has happened with this creation.

Found Again ..

Hello my dear friends,

you know when you see something in an antique store and then when you want to go back to purchase it you can't find it again? Well that is what happened to me last year some time.

I was out and about and visited an antique store and saw these so cute little antique baby shoes in their little box and the tag on it said that they were over 90 years old. They were so neat but I wasn't really sure if I should buy them or not and when I decided to do so I couldn't find them again so I left that day without them ... until now.

A week or so ago my daughters and I visited the same antique store again and as I was browsing around there they were ... the little antique baby shoes! This time I didn't think twice but took them right away to make sure I wouldn't lose them again. And that is why I can share them with you today.

My little 90 year old baby shoes ...

... they are made from leather/fur and they have little ears!

 

Arent' they so cute?!

 

And that is not all I found that day ...

 

 

 ... some lovely lace, a pair of earrings and this beautiful cross that once belonged to a rosary.

 

But I still didn't stop there.

We headed to a thrift store afterwards where I was lucky to find ...

 

... some old doilies and ...

 

... some beautiful treasures in a $2 bag of white buttons.

 

No wonder we ladies love to shop ~ right girls?!

I already can't wait for the church sales this year to finally start ... can you?!

Final Update ... Not Again..

Hello my dear friends,

firstly thank you for all you kind words and support ~ you are all so sweet and amazing and yet again you have all touched my heart so much.

To give you a short update on this and I hope this will be the final update on this matter ... the lady has now taken her name off of my photographs. She has still left my tutorial on her blog, but now added where the tutorial can be found on Todolwen.

Do I feel a little better? ... a tiny bit only.

So far my tutorial has been copied off of her site over and over, again and again on to other blogs and if I read correctly over 500 times already all with her name on it and it has been pinned over at least 380 times with her name on it as well so, that's why I am still unhappy.

 

My next step is to e-mail her and make it clear in writing that she is not permitted to copy anything what so ever off of Todolwen again and display it on her blog.

Will it help ... I don't know. I will have to wait and see.

 

That is all on this matter for I hope a very long time.
