Final Update ... Not Again..

Hello my dear friends,

firstly thank you for all you kind words and support ~ you are all so sweet and amazing and yet again you have all touched my heart so much.

To give you a short update on this and I hope this will be the final update on this matter ... the lady has now taken her name off of my photographs. She has still left my tutorial on her blog, but now added where the tutorial can be found on Todolwen.

Do I feel a little better? ... a tiny bit only.

So far my tutorial has been copied off of her site over and over, again and again on to other blogs and if I read correctly over 500 times already all with her name on it and it has been pinned over at least 380 times with her name on it as well so, that's why I am still unhappy.

My next step is to e-mail her and make it clear in writing that she is not permitted to copy anything what so ever off of Todolwen again and display it on her blog.
Will it help ... I don't know. I will have to wait and see.

That is all on this matter for I hope a very long time.

Many, many hugs to all of you lovely bloggers.

Karen B.

Update .. Not Again ..

Hello my dear friends,

I have been thinking and enough is enough now. After receiving a comment from one of my followers, which I have included in this post, I am really unhappy and I don't see why this person should not be named anymore.

Don't get me wrong .. I have e-mailed her twice now asking her to please remove her name off of my photographs and sketches but no reply so far and she is still doing the same thing as we speak ... adding her name to photos that don't be long to her and linking them to her blog!

Because of her my butterfly tutorial has been copied and place on over 100 other blogs now with no mention of who the original creator was. If you read the comment you will be able to find the blog and please check if you find any of your work on it too. I am trying to find as many pins about my butterfly tutorial and leaving a comment claiming my rights to it and you should do the same too!

This is what she does ...

... these are my photos as you know them from my tutorial but now take a look in the bottom right corner of my phots and pattern page ... her name!

This is the comment I received on my 'flutter~by' tutorial ....

'A Russian website has ripped off your tutorial and watermarked all your photos as their own. I'm sure you are now aware of this as they are pinned all over Pinterest. Maybe if other people see the name of this website they can check and see if their tutorials have also been stolen (because thousands are listed and watermarked with her site name): http://marrietta.ru/post257909937/

I am the last person the be rude but I have to be the one to get this point across to her that it is wrong to do what she is doing then so be it. I am sorry if some of you might not understand me but I have to do this not only for myself but for others too.

Many hugs and thanks to all of you,

Not Again ..

Hello my dear friends,

firstly I must say that I am so very happy that I have so many loyal followers because if it wasn't for you lovely bloggers I think I would consider not publishing any more tutorials and I hope I will never have to write a post about this subject again ~ I truly mean this.

Why am I writing this post?...  because you don't accidentally copy some one's photos and accidentally place your name on them.

We are back to the very touchy subject of people copying my tutorials again. Especially after the last time and especially after I posted a new tutorial. Not only copying but now actually placing their name on my photographs and sketches.

This is something I discovered on Pinterest a few days ago, when I saw one of my photos of my little flutter~by with somebody elses name on it and linked to their blog, where my tutorial was copied by using my photographs and all of them had her name on them and this was not only for my butterfly tutorial ~ she did the same with my little flower tutorial too on the same page. This blogger did mention my name and Todolwen right at the end but not even in a way to make it known that she was just sharing my work. You would think that the photographs were hers and that they were pictures of items she made. She did the same with my origami butterfly tutorial ~ this time without her name on my photos ~ which I found on her blog as well.

Thankfully L. Bailey who had repined my butterfly read a comment about this that I left on Pinterest and changed the name of the owner of the image and the link as well.

Thank you so much L.Bailey from the UK.
If you read this please drop me a line via e-mail.

So ... after not even a month since the last case of something like this I have decided that from now on all my photographs that have to do with my tutorials will be watermarked and anybody copying my tutorials/photos making it look like they are theirs will be named here on Todolwen. I did not make this decision very easily but I am hoping that people will think before they do this again to me, or for that matter, any other blogger.

 ~

Update:
I found this lady on Pinterest and I hate to say that she has done this with many other people's photos/work as well, even a few ladies that I know here in blogland which I will be contacting via e-mail privately. She has added her name onto their photos and linked them back to her blog and if you didn't know the tutorial or the work before visiting her blog, you are easily misled to believe that the photos are hers since she sometimes only states: "Based on the scheme from ..." which ever blog she copied it from.

~

I hope I haven't or ever will offend any of you with anything I write.
I just hope you understand me.
Thank you so much.

I hope you are well and life is treating you kind my dear friends.

Have a peaceful and creative day,

Karen B.

Back With A Bang ..

Hello my dear friends,

old man winter is back with a huge bang and I am not sure how many of you out there are affected by the big snow storm that we have had here in southern Ontario but please be careful and safe.

Here all schools are closed which made my younger daughter Caylagh's day but my poor daughter Ashleigh had to walk all the way to work.

I had already been out first thing at 8 am in the morning and cleared our driveway with the help of my friend, my yellow snow blower and I have also helped my neighbours by doing theirs as well but if you look outside right now you wouldn't think anything has been done.

It had started to snow here some time last night and this morning when I got up at 6.30 it still was snowing until about 15 minutes ago it finally stopped .. well at least for now. So far I think we might have had about a foot of new snow or even more and I don't know if we might get more. I did take some photos though to share with you lovely blogger because despite everything ... it looks beautiful!

Our pool looks like a frozen pond with all the snow.

The poor little birds won't be eating out of this feeder right now.

Wow ... look how high the snow is on the BBQ!

My little Peter Pan is almost fully covered by the snow already.

I wasn't even finished writing this post and it started to snow again and I headed out a second time with the snow blower to clear the sidewalks and driveways and will be it for today.

But didn't I stop there being busy ... no, for the part of the afternoon I sat at my dining table and crocheted some more butterflies and drank lovely hot tea.

It would be so nice for you to visit me here at Todolwen soon again and please be safe in this bad weather.

I hope you are well and life is treating you kind my dear friends.

Have a peaceful and creative weekend,

Karen B.

Under The Weather Again ..

Hello my dear friends,

I am sick with a bad cold once again since a few days now and I am mainly tired and unfortunately I am not in the mood to be creative very much because of it but I do create a little still.

I had found a lovely pale blue crocheting yarn about a week ago which was perfect to create tiny forget~me~nots from using my little flower tutorial and that is what I have been doing apart from starting to work on a few more Heart~Felts too.

I love this very pale blue!

Hopefully I will be able to finish these soon.

Last but not least ...

... another little critter photo I would love to share with all of you lovely bloggers.

I have hung a new bird feeder and since I had a few apples that weren't too fresh anymore I cut them up and placed them outside thinking of the little rabbit that comes at night. Instead a young squirrel took a taste to it and after he had his first few bites he seemed to have had enough and placed the leftover piece of apple in a fork of some branches of one of my flame bushes. I thought ... very neat and that was it.

Well this morning I watched this little black squirrel climb through the trees and down the fence until he got to the point of coming down to the ground and what did he do next? ... he ran straight to the bush and without hesitating he went up to 'his' piece of apple, grabbed it and sat down on a rock in the warm sunshine and ate his apple up. It was just so neat!

He really enjoyed his apple.

And finally ...

... don't forget to take part in my giveaway!

Click on my giveaway button on the top right side of Todolwen and it will take to you to my post where if you wish you can leave a comment and have a chance to win my gifts on February 11th!!

I hope you are well my dear friends and life is treating you kind.

Have a peaceful and creative day,

A Red Dress ..

Hello my dear friends,

I can't believe that it is almost Valentine's Day and I haven't even started to think about what I am going to create for my family. I have a few little ideas but again ... I need to find my muse right about  ... NOW!

OK ... ideas ... I have a ballgown that I once bought for my younger daughter Caylagh in a thrift store and we traded things and long story short - now it is mine. It is made from very beautiful dark red velvet and another fabric and is so pretty but I am going to cut it up and try and make something even more lovely out of it for Valentine's Day.

I love the color and the textures of these fabrics and I am wondering what I am going to be able to create from it.

Last but not last ...

... day before yesterday it was about 14 degrees C here in south~western Ontario with a lot of rain. All the snow melted away and you could have thought that Spring was going to start making an appearance since everything was green again. So that was day before yesterday!

Yesterday was a different story. High winds were blowing over night and  we went from plus 14 C to minus 14 C with the windchill factor and guess who is back ... the wonderful white little glistening winter fairies ... and lots of them.

This was the street last night at 9 pm ET ~ taken from my front door!

(Sorry about the not-so-good photo ~ it was dark and snowing.)

And then, whilst I was sitting writing this post, guess what appeared in our garden right outside my dining room window at 10 pm  ... a little rabbit looking for something to fill it's tummy with; I threw out a few little carrots ~ hopefully it will find them.

And finally ...

I am almost ready to share my giveaway post. I will be posting it on Monday morning so make sure you come back after the weekend and take a look and maybe leave a comment.

I hope you are well my dear friends and life is treating you kind.

Have a peaceful and creative day,

Karen B.
