My Latest Doings On My Worktable

Hello my dear friends,

I didn't get a few of my house chores done last weekend. The window cleaning didn't happen due to snow and more snow so it will have to wait until another warmer day ~ it actually snowed all weekend here so I ended up snow blowing ours and a few of our neighbours driveways and paths which was quite some fun actually!

I did work on a few things that were on my worktable though. I hope you saw my Valentine's Day gifts for my daughters. That was my main project that needed to be finished the past weekend but I also worked and still am working on some other creations. One of them was some new felted nests. Since there was snow still falling outside I tried to create a bit of spring inside in the form of spring nests. Again I was going to do the felting by hand in my sink but I am thinking of trying to do it in the wash machine the next time maybe. The worst thing was when I wanted to start that I could only find left hand rubber gloves!! I have no idea what happened there but it was going to be a bit awkward trying to felt wearing a glove that didn't fit right so I didn't continue with it. So ... now I need to put 'rubber gloves' onto my next shopping list.

I can't believe myself ~ I am already thinking about new creations for this next Winter/Christmas!! I think it must be the weather doing this to me ~ all this snow outside! I will have to make sure I don't get carried away and start anything new, even though I can see myself losing that battle and maybe making one little one of the wintry pieces ~ you see I am weak sometimes when it comes to any new ideas!

I have used a lot of new types of wool for my spring nests and they look really good already and they're not even felted yet!

I wonder if you might guess what these are going to be once they are finished.

I also found two new products, well they are new to me and it was exactly what I was looking for to use in other creations of mine. The one is 'Dimentional Magic' from Modge Podge and the other is called 'Crackle Accents' from Inkssentials and right now I am experimenting with them on one or two ideas I have had. I will share more with you once I have finished my creations.

And last but not least ...

... I found ever so neat beads ~ from tiny hearts to golden lady bugs and finally these ...

... Mom, Dad, Daughter and Son beads!!

They are going to be turned into more of my 'neat pins' when I get a moment to make them.

I absolutely love to create and I hope you can tell by what you see here at Todolwen. I think that's why I tend to work on more than one project at a time ~ it's like one project isn't enough for me most of the time. I love popping from here to there and back again and then suddenly you are done ... what a great feeling to see your creations complete and finished. Love, love, love that feeling and I am sure all of you do as well.

I  hope you are well and life is treating you kind.

Have a peaceful and creative day,

My Valentine's Gifts From My Daughters

Hello my dear friends,

I would love to share my gifts with you today that I received from my daughters for Valentine's Day.
There were beautiful little trinkets, yummy bits and many heart touching words.

My younger daughter Caylagh gifted me with this ...

A sweet treat!

A precious note ...

... and my lovely present was this petite beautiful silver bracelet she made herself ...

... but because I am so worried to lose it, Drag Along will keep it safe for me!

And these were my gifts for my older daughter Ashleigh ...

The little book has the A,B,C written in it all to do with me and my daughter and her feelings and love for me. I haven't read all of it yet because I know I will be so touched that I will cry. So everyday I will read one letter until I have read all of it but I will let you read one of the letters today ...

... I just picked a letter for you randomly. Isn't it so lovely?!

I also received an new ID card from her ~ she made every one in the family one of these neat things.

Such a sweet note!!

And last but not least ...

 ... cupcakes!!!

Look at these yummy cupcakes!! If you love peanut butter you need to go to Ashleigh's blog and read up on the recipe for them ~ they are sooo good!!!

Here is the link to her blog for you ...

That's all for today my dear friends. I am working hard on some new creations right now. Hopefully I will have something new to share with you tomorrow. So, please pop by and take a look!

Just A Short Note ...

Hello my dear friends,

I just had to write this short post with something that bothers me a tiny bit but enough to write about it and post this on my blog.

I absolutely LOVE it when any you lovely people pin my creations onto Pinterest but I would appreciate it if my tutorials were not pinned almost completely picture by picture! So please in future pin the tutorial as a link back to Todolwen or by a single picture, but please do not pin all of my photographs from the tutorial.

Thank you for reading this and I hope you understand that I had to share this with you.

I hope you are well and life is treating you kind.

Have a peaceful and creative day,

Fixing My Mistake

Hello my dear friends,

I spent a little time of  yesterday fixing the mistake I made with my lace cards and the tutorial for them. I am just glad it wasn't anything really intense that went wrong, not for myself but for you lovely bloggers. I can't tell you how happy I am  that you all liked my new tutorial  ~ it really made my day ~ thank you so much!!

It didn't take me too long to make the wrong right on my lace cards and this is the way they look now ...

... just as pretty as before!

I have also been very busy working on my valentine's creations for my daughters ~ it is the 4th part of my 'in a nutshell' creations which I can't share with you before February 14th. but that isn't all I have been up to. I have a few new projects on my work table right now and I am hoping I will be able to share them with you very soon. It is taking me a bit longer than I would like to because I hurt my right index finger ~ it's only a small cut right at my fingertip but it is not healing very well at all and at times when I hit it, the pain is intense. As soon as I am finished I will of course share with you.

And last but not least ...

... my daughter Ashleigh has redesigned her blog about her photography. Right now she is doing a thing called 'Project 365'. What it means is that you take one photo every day of the year without fail. Why not drop by her blog and check it out ~ she takes really neat photographs! I am trying to get her to share some of her crafty creations on her blog as well but so far I haven't succeeded yet.

This is a photograph my daughter took on day 22 ...

And this is the caption to this photo ...

'... this is a picture of my Mum's necklace. She wears it all the time, every day, day in, day out, and has done since as long as I can remember. It is such a beautiful necklace and is so sentimental, not to mention beautiful. When you think of a person, you might think of a certain scent, or feeling, or their eye colour, but when I think of my Mum this necklace is one of the first things to come to mind.'

I thought that was so sweet of her and it's so true!

My upcoming weekend ... I am planning to spend some fair time working on new creations but also donating time to some of my bigger chores ~ like ... washing windows if the weather is good, my studio is a disaster right now again and much more.

I hope you are all well and life is treating you kind.

Have a peaceful and creative day,

Karen B.
